What is Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)?
Dye Penetrant Testing is a non-destructive examination process that involves applying a visible or fluorescent dye to the surface of a component. The penetrant enters any surface defects through capillary action. After removing excess penetrant and applying a developer, defects become clearly visible for evaluation and reporting.
DPT is highly effective for detecting flaws that are open to the surface and cannot be easily identified through visual inspection alone.
